How should I use A1, A2 and B1 labels when practising?

The idea

Try one short task without help and note the obstacle. If most of the message is unclear, use simpler material or more support. If it is easy, change the situation and produce a new response before choosing a harder label.

A concrete practice sequence

Using this beside glotworld

Use these original examples as a separate practice sheet before or after a game session. glotworld offers A1, A2, B1 practice for German learners, with meanings and help in 12 languages, including English and Turkish. Watch out

Different skills can develop unevenly. Understanding a B1-labelled story does not establish B1 writing or speaking, and individual unfamiliar words do not automatically make a whole task unsuitable.

   The last example supplies a sentence pattern, not a single compulsory answer. Change a detail that fits the situation and keep the verb, case and meaning consistent.

Use it today

Repeat the sequence with a fresh situation. Use a level label as a guide to choosing a task, then check whether its actual language is manageable with appropriate support. Record what you can understand and produce. A label on practice material is not itself a test result or certificate. Keep one first attempt and one correction so you can compare what you produced before seeing a model.
