Create a German information-gap task with a partner

The idea

Write two small cards without showing them to each other. Put the time and contact name on one, and the address and entrance on the other. Ask questions in German, then compare the combined record with both cards.

A concrete practice sequence

  The direct question has finite verb treffen before the subject wir.

Watch out

If both partners can see every detail, questions become a reading performance. Keep the information genuinely separate until the check and accept clarification questions as part of the task.

   The last example supplies a sentence pattern, not a single compulsory answer. Change a detail that fits the situation and keep the verb, case and meaning consistent.

Repeat the sequence with a fresh situation. An information-gap task gives each partner different details, so German questions have a real purpose. One person can hold the meeting time while the other holds the address. The task ends when both can state the complete arrangement accurately. Keep one first attempt and one correction so you can compare what you produced before seeing a model.
