A concrete practice sequence

Assign alternating lines below to visitor and receptionist. Read once together. On the second pass, hide the receptionist's lines and answer the visitor naturally. Change one detail for a final round, such as the room or waiting time.

Check the model sentence

  • Besucherin: Ich rufe Sie auf, wenn der Raum frei ist. Empfang: Ich rufe Sie auf, wenn der Raum frei ist.

The receptionist controls the call; assigning this promise to the visitor changes the roles.

Using this beside glotworld

Use these original examples as a separate practice sheet before or after a game session. glotworld offers A1, A2, B1 practice for German learners, with meanings and help in 12 languages, including English and Turkish. Watch out

A reply can be fluent but belong to the wrong speaker. Track who has the information, who asks for it and who can make the promised arrangement.

Try it yourself

  1. Wer kann in dieser Szene normalerweise die Besucherin aufrufen?

    Show answer or example answer

    Die Person am Empfang.

In the given situation, the receptionist manages the waiting process.

  2. Antworte auf „Soll ich hier warten?“ mit einer höflichen Bestätigung.

    Show answer or example answer

Ja, bitte nehmen Sie hier kurz Platz.

This confirms where to wait and gives a suitable next action.

  3. Schreibe eine neue Variante des letzten Beispiels. Ändere eine konkrete Information und behalte den Satzbau bei.

    Show answer or example answer

Muster zum Variieren: Empfang: Ja, Frau Berger holt Sie gleich ab.

The last example supplies a sentence pattern, not a single compulsory answer. Change a detail that fits the situation and keep the verb, case and meaning consistent.

Use it today

Repeat the sequence with a fresh situation. Two-role practice helps you follow how one German reply responds to another. Read each speaker separately, then cover one role and supply its replies. Keep the speaker's goal consistent rather than performing every sentence with the same intention. Keep one first attempt and one correction so you can compare what you produced before seeing a model.
