The idea
Learn the plural as part of the German counting phrase. A number does not remove the noun's plural ending or umlaut.
One contrast, not a prediction about every learner
After a numeral, Turkish commonly uses an unmarked noun, as in iki kitap. German normally uses the plural noun after numbers above one, so zwei Bücher retains the plural marking.
Individual experience, dialect and other languages you know can change which comparisons help. Use the contrast to notice a German choice; do not treat it as a label for a whole group of people.
