The idea
Mara’s request is polite Konjunktiv II with a relative clause: “Könnte ich mit jemandem tauschen, der von 14 bis 16 Uhr eingeteilt ist?”. Leon’s reply is hedged: “Vielleicht könnte ich morgens kommen”, followed by a condition and a clear request: “Bitte trag mich noch nicht um”, the du-imperative of the separable verb umtragen.

Watch out
The tempting reading is that the swap is agreed because Leon replied kindly and Mara thanked him. But Leon wrote “Vielleicht” and asked not to be moved yet, and Mara confirms: “Meine ursprüngliche Schicht ist also noch nicht sicher besetzt.” As the task says, “Eine freundliche Antwort ist hier keine verbindliche Zusage.”

Retell The shift swap that was not complete in four German sentences: the opening situation, the difficulty, the key observation and the outcome. Then write one plausible alternative ending and mark it clearly as your own invention. Compare your retelling with the text to check that you did not invent details unintentionally.
