Short description

glotworld is a German-learning story RPG in the browser. Players explore painted towns, investigate a world that forgets whatever nobody says aloud, and use German to make progress.

Long description

In glotworld, the Lantern Atlas forgets whatever nobody says aloud. The journey begins in Lindenhafen, where a railway is vanishing, and leads to Waldruh’s missing hour and the strange lighthouse of Nebelstadt. The player’s choices shape who trusts them and how the story ends.

German is how players investigate: they listen to witnesses, read clues, build sentences and write short replies. The story starts with simple sentences for complete beginners and grows more demanding chapter by chapter. Meanings and hints are always one tap away.

Key features

  • Three painted towns, eighteen story investigations and ten optional coastal expeditions.
  • Story choices that change relationships and the ending.
  • Listening, reading, sentence-building and short written replies inside the story.
  • Word games and reviews that bring back the words a player has met.
  • Voiced German dialogue and tappable words with their meanings.
  • Other players appear in the same region; progress stays individual.

Accuracy notes

glotworld practises reading, listening and written German. It does not score pronunciation, offer spoken conversation with a tutor or award a language certificate. Recorded dialogue uses synthetic voices. Painted illustrations show the setting; screenshots and the gameplay video show the game itself.
