Work through the German examples, attempt the exercises before opening the answers, and use the method in your own learning.

The idea

Choose situations you already understand from life and learn the German needed for one of them. Start with a short introduction or a request, practise it and adjust one error. Your existing knowledge can support the situation even when the German forms are new.

Examples

  • Ich beginne mit Situationen, die ich wirklich brauche.
  • Ich kann schon viele Dinge in meiner anderen Sprache.
  • Auf Deutsch lerne ich dafür neue Formen.
  • Heute stelle ich mich kurz vor.
  • Morgen frage ich nach einem Termin.
  • Fehler zeigen mir, was ich als Nächstes üben kann.

Read-aloud uses a synthetic German voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.

Watch out

Do not wait for perfect grammar before attempting a small understandable exchange.

Try it yourself

  1. Stellen Sie sich mit Name und Wohnort vor. (Samira, Bremen)

    Show answer or example answer

Ich heiße Samira und wohne in Bremen.

Heiße supplies the name and wohne in supplies the place of residence.

  2. Welches Ziel ist konkret: perfekt Deutsch können oder einen Termin erfragen?

    Show answer or example answer

    Einen Termin erfragen.

Requesting an appointment is a concrete action; being perfect has no clear boundary.

  3. Sie machen einen Artikelfehler. Was ist ein sinnvoller nächster Schritt?

    Show answer or example answer

Das Wort mit Artikel in einem eigenen Satz üben.

A personal sentence connects the noun and its article with a usable context.
