The idea
Clubs (Vereine) are a central part of social life in Germany: there are very many of them, for sport, music, gardening, local history, carnival and more, and many are registered associations (eingetragener Verein, e.V.). They are largely run by unpaid members. Typical roles include the board (Vorstand), treasurer (Kassenwart), secretary (Schriftführer) and coordinators for groups or teams. The club’s statutes (Satzung) define some duties, but in practice tasks are often shared informally. Grammar: “gehören zu” takes the dative, so “zu der” contracts to “zur”.
Other ways to say it
“Wie viel Zeit muss ich dafür ungefähr einplanen?” – Practical question about the time commitment.
“Was hat die Person, die das bisher gemacht hat, alles übernommen?” – Asks about the actual practice of the previous holder.
“Gibt es eine schriftliche Beschreibung der Aufgaben?” – Neutral; asks whether duties are written down anywhere.

- Nein, dafür sprechen wir einzelne Aufgaben gesondert ab.No, we agree on individual tasks separately for that.

Watch out
“Welche Aufgaben gehören zu die Gruppenkoordination?” → “Welche Aufgaben gehören zur Gruppenkoordination?”: “Zu” always takes the dative, so “die” becomes “der”, and “zu der” is normally contracted to “zur”. Learners often keep the nominative article after zu.

Show answer or example answer
Welche Aufgaben gehören bei euch zur Gruppenkoordination?
“Welche Aufgaben” is the plural subject, so the verb is “gehören”. “Bei euch” means in your club, and “zur Gruppenkoordination” is the contracted dative after zu.
Put the words in order: auch / automatisch / die / enthalten / Ist / jeder / Organisation / Veranstaltung
Show answer or example answer
Ist auch die Organisation jeder Veranstaltung automatisch enthalten?
The verb “ist” opens the yes/no question. “Die Organisation jeder Veranstaltung” uses the genitive “jeder Veranstaltung”, and “enthalten” is a participle meaning included.
Write this sentence in German: Good; a role title alone does not explain every expectation.
Show answer or example answer
Gut, eine Rollenbezeichnung allein erklärt nicht jede Erwartung.
“Eine Rollenbezeichnung allein” is the subject, with “allein” meaning on its own. “Nicht jede Erwartung” negates the object, showing a title does not cover everything.
