The idea
Hängen describes where something is hanging: an der Tür (an plus dative for location). A phrase used as a noun is hyphenated and capitalised at the start: das Bitte-nicht-stören-Schild. The passive perfect “Ist … vereinbart worden?” asks whether an arrangement exists. “Keine Notiz finden” negates the noun with kein. “Eine Vereinbarung annehmen” means to assume one exists. Hotels handle the sign differently, so checking the procedure matters.
Other ways to say it
“Zimmer zwölf hat noch „Bitte nicht stören“ draußen.” – Informal staff talk; draußen means on the outside of the door.
“Wie gehen wir bei Zimmern mit Schild vor?” – Neutral; asks about the general procedure.
“Ich lasse das Zimmer vorerst aus.” – Neutral; auslassen means to skip for now.
Examples
- An der Tür hängt noch das Bitte-nicht-stören-Schild.The do-not-disturb sign is still on the door.
- Ist eine spätere Zeit vereinbart worden?Has a later time been arranged?
- Dazu finde ich keine Notiz.I cannot find a note about that.
- Dann fragen wir nach dem vorgesehenen Ablauf. Then let us ask about the prescribed procedure.
- Ich nehme keine eigene Vereinbarung an.I will not assume an arrangement myself.
- Gut, dokumentieren Sie zunächst nur den sichtbaren Status.Good; for now, document only the visible status.

Watch out
“An der Tür hängt noch das Bitte nicht stören Schild.” → “An der Tür hängt noch das Bitte-nicht-stören-Schild.”: When a phrase is joined to a noun, German links all parts with hyphens and writes it as one compound. Separate words make it look like an unfinished sentence.

Show answer or example answer
An der Tür hängt noch das Bitte-nicht-stören-Schild.
“An der Tür” (dative, location) opens the sentence, hängt is second, and the long compound is the subject; noch shows the sign is still there.
