The idea

Status words: geplant (planned), voraussichtlich (expected), bestätigt (confirmed), verbindlich (binding), freigegeben (released). “Ist … bestätigt” is a state passive. Kommunizieren als plus the status word presents information with a label: als geplant. Vorerst means for the time being. “Direkt nach dem Ergebnis der Prüfung” combines nach plus dative with a genitive. Many teams announce dates only after the last check passes.

Other ways to say it

“Steht der Release-Termin schon fest?” – Everyday; feststehen means to be fixed.

“Geplant ist der Freitag, die Bestätigung steht noch aus.” – Neutral status update with both facts.

“Bitte kommunizieren Sie das Datum noch nicht als fest.” – Polite request to stakeholders to wait.

Examples

  • Ist der Veröffentlichungstermin bereits verbindlich bestätigt?Has the release time already been firmly confirmed?
  • Noch fehlt die Rückmeldung zur letzten Prüfung. The response on the final check is still missing.
  • Dann kommunizieren wir ihn vorerst als geplant. Then we will communicate it as planned for now.
  • Wann geben wir den nächsten Status weiter? When will we pass on the next status update?
  • Direkt nach dem Ergebnis der Prüfung. As soon as the check result is available.
  • Gut, Planung und Freigabe bleiben klar getrennt.Good; planning and approval remain clearly separate.

Watch out

“Dann kommunizieren wir ihn vorerst wie geplant.” → “Dann kommunizieren wir ihn vorerst als geplant.”: “Wie geplant” means “according to plan”, which would claim everything is on track. “Als geplant” labels the date’s status: it is planned, not yet confirmed.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: Has the release time already been firmly confirmed?

    Show answer or example answer

Ist der Veröffentlichungstermin bereits verbindlich bestätigt?

A yes/no question with the state passive “Ist … bestätigt”. “Bereits” (already) and “verbindlich” (bindingly) sit in the middle field and carry the point.

  2. Put the words in order: als / Dann / geplant / ihn / kommunizieren / vorerst / wir

    Show answer or example answer

Dann kommunizieren wir ihn vorerst als geplant.

“Ihn” replaces der Termin, masculine accusative. “Vorerst als geplant” labels the status for now; kommunizieren is common office German.

  3. Write this sentence in German: Good; planning and approval remain clearly separate.

    Show answer or example answer

Gut, Planung und Freigabe bleiben klar getrennt.

“Planung und Freigabe” is a plural subject, so “bleiben” is plural. “Klar getrennt” describes the state the two stay in.
