The idea

Bereithalten (to have ready) is separable: “Ich halte die Daten bereit.” Zu plus dative gives the occasion: zum Termin, zur Besprechung. Sofern (provided that) introduces a condition and sends the verb to the end: “sofern Sie sie eindeutig ablesen können”. Ablesen means to read off a display. Überprüfbar (verifiable) is built with -bar. Support teams commonly ask for version, time and exact message before a session.

Other ways to say it

“Was brauchen Sie von mir für den Termin?” – Simple and friendly; puts the helper’s needs first.

“Soll ich vorher etwas vorbereiten?” – Open question; vorbereiten means to prepare.

“Die Versionsnummer finde ich unter „Hilfe“.” – Tells support where you found the version.

Watch out

“Welche Informationen soll ich zum Supporttermin bereit halten?” → “Welche Informationen soll ich zum Supporttermin bereithalten?”: Bereithalten is one separable verb and is written as one word in the infinitive. Learners split it because bereit also exists as an adjective, but here it is a verb prefix.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: What information should I have ready for the support appointment?

    Show answer or example answer

Welche Informationen soll ich zum Supporttermin bereithalten?

“Welche Informationen” is the accusative object. “Soll ich” asks for advice, and the separable infinitive “bereithalten” closes the question.

  2. Put the words in order: auch / betroffene / die / ich / nennen / Programmversion / Soll

    Show answer or example answer

Soll ich auch die betroffene Programmversion nennen?

“Auch” adds a third detail. “Die betroffene Programmversion” is the version where the problem occurs; betroffen is a participle used as an adjective.

  3. Write this sentence in German: Then we can classify the request specifically.

Dann können wir die Anfrage gezielt zuordnen.

“Dann” links to the prepared notes. The modal “können” is second, “zuordnen” last; “gezielt” means without searching.
