The idea
Location words combine as vorne/hinten plus links/rechts plus oben/unten: vorne rechts. An plus dative gives the exact spot: an einer Ecke, an der oberen Ablage. Die Beschichtung is a surface coating. Entstehen means to come about; “wann das entstanden ist” is an indirect question with the verb at the end. “Bei etwas bleiben” means to stick to it.
Other ways to say it
“Das Regal ist an der Ecke beschädigt.” – Neutral; beschädigt sein means to be damaged.
“Ich mache zur Sicherheit ein Foto von der Stelle.” – Neutral; documents the damage for later checks.
“Da ist vorne rechts was abgeplatzt.” – Informal; abplatzen means to chip off.

Watch out
“Ich weiß nicht, wann ist das entstanden.” → “Ich weiß nicht, wann das entstanden ist.”: An indirect question is a subordinate clause, so the finite verb goes to the end. Learners keep the word order of the direct question “Wann ist das entstanden?”.
