Explain an out-of-stock item with an alternative in German

The idea

Vorrätig sein or auf Lager sein both mean in stock. Gleich plus adjective expresses equality: gleich breit (the same width). Etwas plus comparative gives a small difference: etwas höher. Maße and Abmessungen are dimensions. “Über etwas nichts bestätigen können” limits what you promise; über takes the accusative here. With customers use Sie forms.

Other ways to say it

“Das Modell haben wir gerade nicht auf Lager.” – Neutral and common in shops.

“Ich kann Ihnen etwas Ähnliches zeigen.” – Polite; leads straight to an alternative.

“Wir könnten es für Sie bestellen, den Termin müsste ich aber erst klären.” – Polite Konjunktiv II; offers an order without a promise.

“Diese Variante ist die gleiche Breite, aber etwas höher.” → “Diese Variante ist gleich breit, aber etwas höher.”: English “the same width” leads learners to a noun phrase. German prefers gleich plus the adjective, which keeps both halves of the sentence parallel: gleich breit, etwas höher.
