The idea
Nach plus dative can mean according to: nach unserem Ablauf. Die Erstattung is a refund; “jemandem etwas zusagen” means to promise something. Vor der Prüfung is vor plus dative. Schildern means to describe in your own words. Return rules differ between shops and between in-store and online purchases, and many shops take items back as a goodwill gesture (Kulanz), so staff should not promise an outcome early.

Watch out
“Können Sie mir bereits eine Erstattung versichern?” → “Können Sie mir bereits eine Erstattung zusagen?”: English “assure” misleads learners into versichern, which mainly means to insure or to affirm. Promising an outcome is zusagen or versprechen.
