The idea
“Sich kümmern um + accusative” means to take care of; for things it becomes “darum”, for people “um ihn/sie”. Putting “darum” first links back to what was just said. “Im Anschluss (an + accusative)” means directly after; “danach” and “gleich danach” are plainer. A task list phrase like “auf der offenen Liste bleiben” shows it is not forgotten.
Other ways to say it
“Das erledige ich gleich danach.” – Neutral and direct; common at work and at home.
“Mach ich nachher.” – Casual; drops the subject, typical among family and friends.
“Ich werde mich im Anschluss darum kümmern.” – Formal; the future with werden stresses the commitment.
Examples
- Darum kümmere ich mich direkt im Anschluss.I will take care of that immediately afterwards.
- Nach welchem Arbeitsschritt genau? After which work step exactly?
- Nach der gemeinsamen Prüfung der Angaben. After jointly checking the details.
- Dann bleibt es bis dahin auf der offenen Liste. Then it will stay on the open list until then.
- Ja, ich möchte zuerst diese Prüfung abschließen.Yes, I would like to finish this check first.
- Gut, die Reihenfolge ist damit klar.Good; that makes the order clear.

Watch out
“Ich kümmere mich um das im Anschluss.” → “Ich kümmere mich im Anschluss darum.”: For things, German replaces “preposition + das” with a da-compound: um das becomes darum. “Um das” sounds clumsy unless a relative clause follows.
Try it yourself
Translate into German: I will take care of that immediately afterwards.
Show answer or example answer
Darum kümmere ich mich direkt im Anschluss.
“Darum” opens the sentence, so “kümmere ich mich” follows with the reflexive after the subject. “Direkt im Anschluss” is the time phrase.
Put the words in order: Angaben / der / der / gemeinsamen / Nach / Prüfung
Show answer or example answer
Nach der gemeinsamen Prüfung der Angaben.
An elliptical answer: “nach der gemeinsamen Prüfung” is dative after nach, and “der Angaben” is a genitive plural naming what is checked.
Write this sentence in German: Good; that makes the order clear.
Show answer or example answer
Gut, die Reihenfolge ist damit klar.
“Damit” means with that answer and stands after the verb “ist”. “Die Reihenfolge” is the subject, and “klar” ends the sentence.
