The idea
“Fürs Erste” is für + das Erste, with a capital E because Erste is used as a noun. Synonyms are “vorläufig”, “zunächst”, “vorerst” and, formally, “bis auf Weiteres”. “Eine Zwischenlösung” is an interim solution. “Etwas als … kennzeichnen” (to label as) takes the accusative object and an adjective or noun after als.

Watch out
