The idea
“Verzichten auf” plus accusative means to do without: auf die Kartons verzichten. “Reichen” plus a dative person means to be enough for someone: “Eine Tüte reicht mir.” Teil is neuter (das Teil) when it means an item or piece. “Trotzdem” (still, nevertheless) is an adverb and can stand in the middle. Heil means intact; “heil ankommen” means to arrive undamaged.
Other ways to say it
“Ich brauche keine Tüte, danke.” – The simplest refusal at any till.
“Bitte nur so viel Verpackung wie nötig.” – Polite general request; short and clear.
Examples
- Können Sie die drei Teile zusammen einpacken? Can you wrap the three items together?
- Möchten Sie auf die Einzelkartons verzichten?Would you like to do without the individual boxes?
- Ja, eine gemeinsame Tüte reicht mir.Yes, one shared bag is enough for me.
- Die zerbrechliche Tasse schütze ich trotzdem separat.I will still protect the fragile cup separately.
- Das ist gut, sie soll heil ankommen. That is good; it should arrive intact.
- Dann verwenden wir nur die nötige Verpackung. Then we will use only the necessary packaging.

Watch out
“Möchten Sie die Einzelkartons verzichten?” → “Möchten Sie auf die Einzelkartons verzichten?”: Verzichten cannot take a direct object. The thing you do without always follows auf in the accusative.
