The idea
Nicht mehr negates a state that used to be true: Die Karte geht nicht mehr. Its counterpart is noch: Die Karte geht noch. Aufleuchten (to light up) and blinken (to flash) describe the reader. Gehören zu + dative states which room a card belongs to: Sie gehört zu Zimmer fünfunddreißig. Die Zuordnung is the link between card and room.
Other ways to say it
“Die Karte für Zimmer 35 funktioniert nicht.” – Short and neutral; gives the room straight away.
“Könnten Sie meine Karte bitte neu programmieren?” – Asks directly for the usual fix.

Watch out
“Meine Zimmerkarte öffnet die Tür nicht noch.” → “Meine Zimmerkarte öffnet die Tür nicht mehr.”: English “not anymore” and “still” tempt learners to combine nicht with noch. German uses nicht mehr for no longer; noch nicht means not yet.
