The idea
Des Arbeitshefts is genitive: masculine and neuter nouns take des and add -s or -es. In speech, von dem Arbeitsheft is also common. Anders aussehen (to look different) uses the separable verb aussehen. Nachfragen means to ask back or check with someone. Vergleichen Sie … is a formal imperative, used for instructions with Sie. Die Materialliste is the list of supplies many schools hand out.

Watch out
“Welche Ausgabe des Arbeitsheft brauchen wir?” → “Welche Ausgabe des Arbeitshefts brauchen wir?”: After des, a masculine or neuter noun needs the genitive ending -s or -es. Leaving it off is a common slip with long compound nouns.
