The idea
Without a dative person, ausleihen means to borrow (like from a library): Mein Sohn leiht ein Instrument aus. Dafür is a da-compound: German replaces für + a thing or idea with dafür, not für das. Nach etwas fragen (ask about something) takes the dative: nach dem aktuellen Ablauf. Notieren is a regular verb meaning to write down. With school staff, parents normally use Sie.
Other ways to say it
“Verleiht die Schule auch Instrumente an Schüler?” – Asks from the school’s side; verleihen means to lend out.
“An wen wende ich mich wegen eines Leihinstruments?” – Asks who is responsible before asking about details.

Watch out
“Gibt es für das ein Anmeldeformular?” → “Gibt es dafür ein Anmeldeformular?”: When für refers to a thing or a situation, German uses the da-compound dafür instead of für das. Für + pronoun is kept for people: für ihn, für sie.
