The idea

Schicken an + accusative: an meine neue E-Mail-Adresse. Common symbols: Punkt (.), Bindestrich (-), Unterstrich (_), and @, usually said as “ät”. Ersetzen (to replace) appears in the passive: Soll die alte Adresse ersetzt werden? Nutzen means to use. Der Kontaktweg is the channel for contact.

Other ways to say it

“Meine E-Mail-Adresse hat sich geändert.” – Neutral opener announcing the change.

“Bitte löschen Sie die alte Adresse aus Ihrem System.” – Asks that the old address be removed.

Examples

  • Bitte schicken Sie die Rückmeldung an meine neue E-Mail-Adresse.Please send the response to my new email address.
  • Soll die alte Adresse ersetzt werden?Should the old address be replaced?
  • Ja, diese nutze ich nicht mehr.Yes, I no longer use it.
  • Ich lese Ihnen die neue Adresse vor.I will read the new address to you.
  • Zwischen Vorname und Nachname steht ein Punkt. There is a dot between the first name and surname.

Watch out

“Bitte schicken Sie die Rückmeldung zu meiner neuen E-Mail-Adresse.” → “Bitte schicken Sie die Rückmeldung an meine neue E-Mail-Adresse.”: Messages are sent to a person or address with an + accusative. Zu is used for going to places or people physically, not for addresses.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: Please send the response to my new email address.

    Show answer or example answer

Bitte schicken Sie die Rückmeldung an meine neue E-Mail-Adresse.

Bitte schicken Sie is a polite formal imperative. Die Rückmeldung is the object, and an meine neue E-Mail-Adresse the accusative destination.

  2. Put the words in order: diese / ich / Ja / mehr / nicht / nutze

    Show answer or example answer

Ja, diese nutze ich nicht mehr.

Diese refers to the old address and stands first for emphasis, so nutze comes second. Nicht mehr means no longer.

  3. Write this sentence in German: Then let us confirm the new contact channel together.

Dann bestätigen wir den neuen Kontaktweg gemeinsam.

Bestätigen follows dann. Den neuen Kontaktweg is accusative masculine, and gemeinsam means both sides check it.
