The idea
Wurde … weiterverbunden is past passive; weiterverbinden is separable but the participle keeps it together. Wegen takes the genitive in standard German: wegen meiner Anfrage. Es geht um + accusative (it is about) is answered with um …. Schildern (describe) is slightly formal. Der aktuelle Stand means the current state of things.
Other ways to say it

Watch out
“Ich wurde wegen meine Anfrage zu Ihnen weiterverbunden.” → “Ich wurde wegen meiner Anfrage zu Ihnen weiterverbunden.”: Wegen takes the genitive in written and formal German; colloquially the dative is heard too. Meine (accusative or nominative) is wrong either way.
