The idea
“Eine Nummer größer” is an accusative of measure placed after the noun: diese Jacke eine Nummer größer. Nachsehen (to check) is separable but stays whole after a modal. In “etwas Ähnliches”, the adjective after etwas, nichts or viel becomes a noun and is capitalised, with the ending -es. “Falls sie fehlt” uses fehlen in the sense of not being available.
Other ways to say it
“Gibt es die Jacke auch in Größe L?” – Names the size directly; neutral and quick.
“Können Sie die Jacke in meiner Größe bestellen?” – Asks for an order if the shop does not have it.
Examples
- Haben Sie diese Jacke eine Nummer größer?Do you have this jacket one size larger?

- Ich prüfe zuerst unseren Bestand.I will check our stock first.
- Mir gefällt genau dieser Schnitt.I like this particular cut.
- Falls sie fehlt, zeige ich Ihnen etwas Ähnliches. If it is unavailable, I will show you something similar.

Watch out
“Falls sie fehlt, zeige ich Ihnen etwas ähnliches.” → “Falls sie fehlt, zeige ich Ihnen etwas Ähnliches.”: After etwas, nichts or viel, an adjective is used as a noun and is written with a capital letter: etwas Ähnliches, nichts Neues.

Show answer or example answer
Haben Sie diese Jacke eine Nummer größer?
“Haben Sie” opens the question; “diese Jacke” is the object, followed by the measure “eine Nummer größer”.
Put the words in order: bitte / im / Könnten / Lager / nachsehen / Sie
Show answer or example answer
Könnten Sie bitte im Lager nachsehen?
“Könnten” plus “bitte” is very polite; “im Lager” gives the place, and “nachsehen” stays whole at the end.
Write this sentence in German: If it is unavailable, I will show you something similar.
Show answer or example answer
Falls sie fehlt, zeige ich Ihnen etwas Ähnliches.
The falls-clause comes first, so the main clause starts with “zeige”; “Ihnen” is dative, “etwas Ähnliches” accusative.
