The idea
One modal verb can govern two infinitives joined by und: Ich kann … verlassen und … wiederkommen. Verlassen (to leave a place or group) takes an accusative object; lassen means to let or leave something somewhere. Wiederkommen is separable. Wäre makes a question tentative. Abhängen von + dative means to depend on: Das hängt vom Rundgang ab.
Other ways to say it
“Ich muss kurz weg. Wo finde ich Sie danach?” – Direct and practical; announces the break and asks for the place.
“Wohin geht die Gruppe als Nächstes?” – Asks for the next stop so you can catch up.

Watch out
“Kann ich die Gruppe kurz lassen und später wiederkommen?” → “Kann ich die Gruppe kurz verlassen und später wiederkommen?”: Leaving a group or place is verlassen. Lassen alone means to let or to leave something behind, so die Gruppe lassen sounds like leaving the group alone or allowing it.
