The idea
Öffnen is reflexive when doors open by themselves: “Die Türen öffnen sich.” Beachten takes a direct accusative object (“die Durchsage beachten”), while the similar achten needs auf. “Es ging um …” (it was about) is the past of “es geht um” and is very common for summarising an announcement. Nachfragen means to ask again for detail; “genauer nachfragen” stresses precision.
Other ways to say it
“Kann ich hier aus jedem Wagen aussteigen?” – Simple, neutral question to staff or a fellow passenger.
“Könnten Sie die Durchsage kurz wiederholen?” – Polite request when the announcement was too fast.
“In welchen Wagen muss ich zum Aussteigen gehen?” – Direct question about where to move before arriving.
Examples
- Öffnen sich hier alle Türen?Do all the doors open here?
- Bitte beachten Sie die Durchsage zum Ausstieg. Please pay attention to the announcement about getting off.
- Ich habe den Abschnitt nicht verstanden.I did not understand the section mentioned.
- Es ging um die hinteren Wagen. It was about the rear carriages.
- Soll ich beim Personal genauer nachfragen?Should I ask the staff for more detail?
- Ja, nennen Sie dabei Ihre Wagennummer.Yes, tell them your carriage number.

Watch out
“Bitte beachten Sie auf die Durchsage.” → “Bitte beachten Sie die Durchsage.”: Beachten takes a direct object without a preposition. Learners mix it up with achten auf, which does need auf: „Achten Sie auf die Durchsage.“

Show answer or example answer
Öffnen sich hier alle Türen?
“Öffnen sich” is reflexive because the doors open themselves; “alle Türen” is the plural subject, and “hier” refers to this platform.
Put the words in order: Abschnitt / den / habe / Ich / nicht / verstanden
Show answer or example answer
Ich habe den Abschnitt nicht verstanden.
Perfect tense with haben: “habe … nicht verstanden”. Nicht stands before the participle, and der Abschnitt is the platform section named.
Write this sentence in German: Yes, tell them your carriage number.
Show answer or example answer
Ja, nennen Sie dabei Ihre Wagennummer.
“Nennen Sie” is a polite imperative; dabei means “while doing so”, and Ihre Wagennummer is the accusative object.
