The idea

Sich treffen is reflexive and irregular: er/sie trifft sich. “Am Samstag” uses am for days. Sich sammeln means to gather. Erkennen an + dative means to recognise by something: “Erkennt man euch an einem Schild?”. The page mixes registers: ihr for the group, Sie in “melden Sie sich”; use whichever the group uses with you. Zum ersten Mal means for the first time.

Other ways to say it

“Wo ist euer Treffpunkt?” – Short, casual question to a group.

“An wen kann ich mich vor Ort wenden?” – Neutral; sich wenden an means to turn to someone.

Watch out

“Wo trefft sich die Helfergruppe?” → “Wo trifft sich die Helfergruppe?”: Treffen changes its vowel e to i in the du and er/sie/es forms: du triffst, sie trifft. Trefft is only the ihr form.
