The four seasons are der Frühling (spring), der Sommer (summer), der Herbst (autumn/fall) and der Winter (winter). Use them to describe the weather and plan an activity: Im Frühling wird es wärmer means it gets warmer in spring.

The idea

Use impersonal es for weather verbs: Es regnet. Use im with seasons: im Winter.

Es ist kalt describes cold weather; Mir ist kalt means that you feel cold. Keep the subject es: Heute ist es warm, even though Heute already comes first.
