The idea

Ablageort is the place where a parcel was left without handing it over. Show the gap step by step: what the notice says, why that is ambiguous (jedoch), what you have already done (bisher … an keinem der Zugänge), and what you need. The negative keiner der + genitive plural (“an keinem der genannten Zugänge”) says “at none of”. Close with würde + infinitive to make the request polite. Include the tracking number and, if useful, a photo of the entrances.

Other ways to say it

“Welcher Eingang ist in Ihrer Nachricht genau gemeint?” – Short, direct question; fits a chat or contact form.

– Neutral; refers to the tracking page as the source.

Watch out

→ “Eine genaue Beschreibung würde mir bei der Suche helfen.”: Helfen takes a dative object, so the person helped is mir, not mich. English “help me” has no case marking, which makes this a frequent slip.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: Your delivery message gives only entrance as the delivery location.

Ihre Zustellnachricht nennt als Ablageort nur den Begriff Eingang.

“Nennt … als Ablageort” uses als to give a role: the notice names something as the drop-off place. “Den Begriff Eingang” is accusative; the quoted word itself needs no article.

  2. Put the words in order: Bereich / Bitte / gemeint / genau / ist / mir / mit / Sie / teilen / welcher

    Show answer or example answer

After the imperative “Bitte teilen Sie mir mit” comes an indirect question with “welcher Bereich”, nominative because Bereich is the subject. “Genau gemeint ist” sits at the end.

  3. Write this sentence in German: A precise description would help me search.

“Würde … helfen” is Konjunktiv II and makes the closing a polite suggestion rather than a demand. “Bei der Suche” uses bei + dative for the activity.

The tracking says your parcel was left “im Hof”, but your building has two courtyards. Write to the carrier explaining the problem and asking for a precise description.
