か月 counts a length of time in months.

The idea

Put a number before か月: 一か月 is いっかげつ, 二か月 is にかげつ and 六か月 is ろっかげつ. 八か月 is はっかげつ; 十か月 is じゅっかげつ or じっかげつ. Ask 何か月（なんかげつ）. Add 間 to emphasize duration, or 後 and 前 for a point that many months later or earlier.

Watch out

一月（いちがつ） names January; 一か月（いっかげつ） is a duration of one month. You may also see ヶ月 or 箇月 for か月.
