The idea

ま み む め も are ma, mi, mu, me and mo. Each combines m with one vowel and takes one mora. Read them in words such as まど (mado) and みず (mizu). Some words are written in kana here for practice; everyday Japanese often writes them with kanji.

Watch out

Do not confuse め and ぬ: ぬ has a loop at the end. The particle も in これも means “also”; it is still read mo.
