Rami möchte deutsche Bücher lesen. In der Bücherei fragt er nach einem Ausweis. Die Mitarbeiterin gibt ihm ein Formular. Rami schreibt seinen Namen, seine Adresse und sein Geburtsdatum auf. Dann zeigt er seinen Personalausweis.
„Was lesen Sie gern?“, fragt die Mitarbeiterin. „Geschichten über Tiere“, antwortet Rami. Sie zeigt ihm ein Regal mit einfachen Büchern. Rami findet ein dünnes Buch über einen Fuchs. Daneben steht ein großes Wörterbuch. Das möchte er auch mitnehmen.
An der Theke bekommt Rami seinen neuen Büchereiausweis. Die Mitarbeiterin erklärt: „Das Wörterbuch bleibt hier. Das Buch über den Fuchs können Sie ausleihen.“ Rami setzt sich zuerst an einen Tisch. Mit dem Wörterbuch sucht er drei Wörter aus der Geschichte. Er schreibt sie in sein Heft. Dann gibt er das Wörterbuch zurück und nimmt die Geschichte mit nach Hause. Auf dem Heimweg liest er schon die erste Seite.
