The idea

A group proposal uses ihr and moves from suggestion to reason to next step. “Vorschlagen” is separable: “ich schlage … vor”. Reasons can be linked with “dadurch” (as a result), which takes first position and pushes the verb second. “Wir könnten …” (Konjunktiv II) makes a plan sound open. “Sich lassen + infinitive” expresses possibility: “Die Texte lassen sich unabhängig lesen” means they can be read independently. Close with a deadline and an invitation to propose alternatives.

Other ways to say it

“Wie wäre es nächstes Mal mit einem Erzählband?” – Casual suggestion as a question; good for a chat.

“Mein Vorschlag für das nächste Treffen wäre ein Erzählband.” – Neutral and slightly tentative with wäre.

Watch out

“Für unser nächstes Treffen ich schlage einen Erzählband vor.” → “Für unser nächstes Treffen schlage ich einen Erzählband vor.”: When a phrase like “Für unser nächstes Treffen” comes first, the verb must still be in second position, so subject and verb swap.
