The idea

Write formally with Sie, a Betreff such as “Korrektur meiner Teilnahmebescheinigung” and the course name. Name the error with “falsch geschrieben”, then the correction with “lautet … statt …”. Confirming what is correct (“stimmen bereits”) limits the change to one point. “Bitte prüfen Sie die Ausstellung …” is a careful formal request that leaves the decision to the institution. Close with thanks and “Mit freundlichen Grüßen”.

Other ways to say it

“Könnten Sie mir bitte eine neue Bescheinigung mit korrektem Namen ausstellen?” – Polite Konjunktiv II; asks directly for a new document.

“In meinem Vornamen ist ein Buchstabe vertauscht.” – Neutral; describes the error precisely.

Watch out

“Die richtige Schreibweise lautet Selin anstatt von Selim.” → “Die richtige Schreibweise lautet Selin statt Selim.”: Statt is enough on its own before a name or noun. Adding von imitates English “instead of” and sounds clumsy in formal writing.
