The idea

A consent request to friends uses ihr and Konjunktiv II for a soft wish: “würde ich gern teilen”. The request “Bitte sagt mir, wenn …” lets people object easily. Make clear where photos will appear (“im geschlossenen Gruppenchat”) and what you do without an answer (“Ohne eure Rückmeldung teile ich … nicht”). Note the negation “auf keinem Bild”: kein replaces nicht + ein. End with a sentence about deciding together.

Other ways to say it

“Ist es für euch okay, wenn ich ein paar Fotos teile?” – Casual yes/no question for close friends.

“Darf ich die Fotos, auf denen ihr zu sehen seid, teilen?” – Neutral and precise; names exactly which photos.

Ich habe die Fotos von unserem gemeinsamen Abend sortiert.

Einige würde ich gern im geschlossenen Gruppenchat teilen.

Bitte sagt mir, wenn ihr auf keinem Bild erscheinen möchtet.

Ich zeige euch die betreffenden Aufnahmen vorher einzeln.

Ohne eure Rückmeldung teile ich diese Bilder zunächst nicht.

So können wir die Auswahl gemeinsam klären.

Watch out

“Bitte sagt mir, wenn ihr möchtet nicht auf einem Bild erscheinen.” → “Bitte sagt mir, wenn ihr auf keinem Bild erscheinen möchtet.”: Two errors in one: the modal must go to the end of the wenn-clause, and “nicht … einem” becomes “keinem”.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: I have sorted the photos from our evening together.

    Show answer or example answer

Ich habe die Fotos von unserem gemeinsamen Abend sortiert.

“Sortieren” in the perfect shows the work is done. “Von unserem gemeinsamen Abend” is dative after von, so the possessive ends in -em.

  2. Put the words in order: auf / Bild / Bitte / erscheinen / ihr / keinem / mir / möchtet / sagt / wenn

    Show answer or example answer

Bitte sagt mir, wenn ihr auf keinem Bild erscheinen möchtet.

“Bitte sagt mir” is the ihr imperative. In the wenn-clause “möchtet” goes last; “keinem” is the dative of kein after auf (location).

  3. Write this sentence in German: That lets us agree on the selection together.

    Show answer or example answer

So können wir die Auswahl gemeinsam klären.

“So” refers back to the plan and starts the sentence, so “können” is second. “Etwas klären” means to settle an open question.
