The idea
Write formally with Sie and a Betreff with the order number. Order: what is missing, which item, what arrived, a question, the reference, a request for next steps. “Fehlen” has the missing thing as its subject: “Es fehlt ein Artikel.” “Es handelt sich um …” (it is about) introduces the exact item. Ask neutrally with “Bitte prüfen Sie, ob …” rather than accusing the shop. Close with “Ich bitte um eine Rückmeldung zum weiteren Vorgehen”.
Other ways to say it
“Leider war das Notizbuch nicht im Paket.” – Neutral and simple; good for a contact form.
“Bitte senden Sie mir den fehlenden Artikel nach.” – Formal direct request; “nachsenden” means to send afterwards.

Watch out
“In meiner Lieferung fehlt einen bestellten Artikel.” → “In meiner Lieferung fehlt ein bestellter Artikel.”: With fehlen the missing thing is the subject, so it is nominative: ein bestellter Artikel. Learners treat it like an object, as with English “I am missing an item”.

Show answer or example answer
In meiner heutigen Lieferung fehlt ein bestellter Artikel.
“In meiner heutigen Lieferung” comes first, so “fehlt” follows; the subject “ein bestellter Artikel” comes after the verb.
Put the words in order: angekommen / Artikel / Die / sind / übrigen / vollständig

Die übrigen Artikel sind vollständig angekommen.
“Vollständig angekommen” (arrived in full) uses the perfect with sein because ankommen is a verb of movement.
Write this sentence in German: I request a response about the next steps.
