The idea

Structure the email as change, details, request, decision. Use contrast words to keep the changes apart: nun (now, after the change) for what is new and dagegen for what stays. The request uses a Sie imperative (“Bitte erstellen Sie …”, “Kennzeichnen Sie dabei …”). Key vocabulary: das Angebot (quote), der Kostenvoranschlag (cost estimate), die Position (line item), der Auftrag (the order you award). The last sentence keeps your decision open, which avoids an accidental commitment.

Other ways to say it

“Könnten Sie Ihren Kostenvoranschlag an den geänderten Umfang anpassen?” – Polite question form; anpassen an means to adjust to.

“Der Anstrich der zusätzlichen Wand entfällt.” – Short, factual statement of one removed item.

Watch out

“Unser Bedarf ist sich seit Ihrer ersten Kalkulation geändert.” → “Unser Bedarf hat sich seit Ihrer ersten Kalkulation geändert.”: Reflexive verbs such as sich ändern always form the Perfekt with haben. Learners pick sein because the meaning is a change of state, but the reflexive pronoun rules that out.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: Our requirements have changed since your first calculation.

    Show answer or example answer

Unser Bedarf hat sich seit Ihrer ersten Kalkulation geändert.

“Hat sich … geändert” is the Perfekt of the reflexive verb sich ändern. “Seit Ihrer ersten Kalkulation” uses seit + dative to mark the starting point of the change.

  2. Put the words in order: Arbeiten / besprochen / bleiben / dagegen / Die / Eingangsbereich / im / wie

    Show answer or example answer

Die Arbeiten im Eingangsbereich bleiben dagegen wie besprochen.

“Dagegen” after the verb marks contrast with the previous sentence: the wall is dropped, the entrance work stays. “Wie besprochen” is a short, fixed phrase for “as discussed”.

  3. Write this sentence in German: I can decide on the order only after reviewing the new quotation.

    Show answer or example answer

Erst nach Prüfung des neuen Angebots kann ich über den Auftrag entscheiden.

“Erst nach” means “only after” and stresses the condition. The genitive “des neuen Angebots” follows Prüfung, and “über den Auftrag entscheiden” uses über + accusative.
