The idea

Use the formal Sie throughout, with capitalised Ihr and Ihnen. Structure: who takes over and from when, what has been handed over, what is still open, where to direct questions, what stays the same, thanks. Ab + dative marks a starting time; without an article the adjective takes -er (ab kommender Woche). Name the colleague with Frau or Herr and surname. Sich wenden an or Rückfragen richten an + accusative tells the customer where to go next.

Other ways to say it

“Ihre Ansprechpartnerin ist ab dem 3. März Frau Arslan.” – Neutral and factual; puts the date in the centre.

“Frau Arslan wird sich in den nächsten Tagen bei Ihnen melden.” – Friendly promise that the new contact will reach out first.

Watch out

“Bitte richten Sie weitere Rückfragen direkt an ihr.” → “Bitte richten Sie weitere Rückfragen direkt an sie.”: Richten an expresses a direction, so an takes the accusative: an sie. Ihr would be the dative, used for a location (an ihr hängen), not for a destination.

Try it yourself

  1. Translate into German: From next week, Ms Arslan will take over your ongoing enquiry.

    Show answer or example answer

Ab kommender Woche übernimmt Frau Arslan Ihre laufende Anfrage.

“Ab kommender Woche” uses ab + dative without article, so kommender has the strong ending -er. The verb “übernimmt” is second, then the subject “Frau Arslan”.

  2. Put the words in order: Bestätigung / des / die / gewünschten / ist / noch / Offen / Zeitfensters

    Show answer or example answer

Offen ist noch die Bestätigung des gewünschten Zeitfensters.

“Offen” is fronted for emphasis, so “ist” comes second and the long subject follows. “Des gewünschten Zeitfensters” is genitive neuter with -s on the noun.

  3. Write this sentence in German: Thank you for the good coordination so far.

    Show answer or example answer

Vielen Dank für die bisherige gute Abstimmung.

“Die bisherige gute Abstimmung” thanks the customer for the past cooperation. Two adjectives after die both take -e, and “bisherige” marks the end of your part.
