Describe what you feel and when it started during a clinic visit.

The idea

Use a body part with が痛いです for pain, and a starting time with から for when a symptom began. せきが出ています describes a continuing cough; 薬を飲んでいます says you are taking medicine.

Examples

My head hurts.
I have had a fever since yesterday.
I have a cough.
My throat hurts too.
I have not eaten anything since this morning.
I am taking medicine.
