Explore 倍 through comparisons of quantities and changes over time.

The idea

倍 has 10 strokes and is normally read ばい. A number before 倍 gives a multiplication factor: 二倍 is twice the reference quantity. 倍増 means to double.

Watch out

二倍 means twice the original amount, not an increase of two times the original amount. Identify the reference quantity before comparing.
