The idea
Remove ます from a verb and add に行きます to express the purpose of going: 飲みます becomes 飲みに行きます. The に after the verb stem marks purpose; a destination can separately take へ or に. The same pattern works with 来ます: 遊びに来ます means “come to visit or spend time together”.
| Form | Example |
|---|---|
| 買います | 買いに行きます |
| 食べます | 食べに行きます |
| 勉強します | 勉強しに行きます |
| 遊びます | 遊びに来ます |
