Use these original N3-level questions to practise reading notices and expressing uncertainty.
The idea
J.TEST is a separate Japanese proficiency test with its own levels and scoring; N3 here describes the practice difficulty, not an official J.TEST level. The provider supplies information and sample questions. In a notice, までに sets a deadline; ので gives a reason, and かもしれません expresses possibility.
Examples
- 会議は二時からなので、一時五十分までに来てください。The meeting starts at two, so please arrive by ten to two.
- 図書館は月曜日が休みなので、火曜日に本を返します。The library is closed on Monday, so I will return the book on Tuesday.
- 遅れる場合は、連絡をしてください。Please contact me if you will be late.
- 家を出る前に、時刻表を確認しました。I checked the timetable before leaving home.
- 電車が遅れているので、間に合わないかもしれません。Since the train is delayed, I may not make it on time.
- 答える前に、説明をよく読んでください。Please read the instructions carefully before answering.
Read-aloud uses a synthetic Japanese voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.
No Japanese device voice is available. You can still read the text and use the linked listening resources.
Watch out
Do not assume JLPT N3 and a J.TEST score are interchangeable. Check the provider for the current format, dates and registration details; these exercises are not official questions.
