Use a few words you already understand to practise recalling Turkish across several days. This lesson is about when to return to them; it does not prescribe a vocabulary notebook layout.
The idea
Keep the answer hidden, say or write it, then check both meaning and the requested form. After successful recall without help, try a longer gap before the next session. After a mistake, check the answer, try again after a few other cards, and use a shorter gap next time. Spacing means returning on separate occasions, not repeating everything many times in one sitting.
Examples
- Bugün beş kelime çalışıyorum.Today I am studying five words.
- Bu kartı yarın tekrarlıyorum.I am reviewing this card tomorrow.
- Zor kelimeleri daha sık tekrarlıyorum.I review difficult words more often.
- Önce cevabı yazıyorum.First I write the answer.
- Sonra kartı çeviriyorum. Then I turn the card over.
- Bu kitabı tekrar okuyorum.I am reading this book again.
Read-aloud uses a synthetic Turkish voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.
No Turkish device voice is available. You can still read the text.
Watch out
Do not mark a card correct just because the revealed answer looks familiar. Recognising kitap does not prove you can supply kitabı in Bu kitabı tekrar okuyorum. If the task asks for that form, recalling only the dictionary word is not a complete answer.
Try it yourself
The sample plan starts today. When is the first later session? Choose yarın (tomorrow) or bugün (today).
Show answer or example answer
yarın
yarın means tomorrow: the sample plan puts the first later session one day after today, not immediately after turning the card over.
You recalled both meaning and the requested form without help. What should you try for the next gap? Choose uzat (lengthen) or kısalt (shorten).
Show answer or example answer
uzat
uzat means lengthen: the meaning and requested form came back without a clue, so this card can be tried after a longer gap. It still needs a future session.
You could not produce kitabı, but recognised it after revealing the answer. What should you do with the next gap? Choose uzat (lengthen) or kısalt (shorten).
Show answer or example answer
kısalt
kısalt means shorten: seeing kitabı helped you recognise it, but you could not produce it with the answer hidden. Check its spelling and try again before giving it a longer gap.
Practice round
Answer questions, then rebuild Turkish sentences and words where available. We keep your score.

Try five familiar words today. A sample plan is to return tomorrow, three days from today, and seven days from today, if recall succeeds. These are adjustable starting dates, not a guaranteed best schedule. After each attempt, record the result and choose the next date.
