Build a small entry that helps you use a word, not just recognise it. The table models three entries; its meanings refer to these particular sentences.
The idea
Use four columns: dictionary form, meaning here, useful form or word group, and your own sentence. Keep the noun kitap beside kitabı and the verb gitmek beside gidiyorum. Record one relevant meaning first; add another with a new example when you meet it. Keep the letters and endings intact.
| Dictionary form | Meaning here | Useful form or word group | Your own sentence |
|---|---|---|---|
| kitap | book | kitabı | Bu kitabı akşam okuyorum. |
| gitmek | to go | gidiyorum | Ben bugün pazara gidiyorum. |
| beklemek | to wait | otobüs beklemek | Durakta otobüs bekliyorum. |

Watch out
Do not file kitabı as an unrelated new word or reduce gidiyorum to an invented dictionary form. Link the form you meet to its headword. A translation alone will not show how the word fits into your sentence.
