Choose geschafft for managing a task and geschaffen for creating something, then understand ich bin geschafft and their shared present tense.

The idea
Schaffen has two important past patterns: schaffte – hat geschafft for manage or accomplish, and schuf – hat geschaffen for create. In the present, both use ich schaffe, du schaffst, er schafft.
| Pattern / form | German example |
|---|---|

Read the whole construction
After finishing difficult homework, say Ich habe es geschafft. For an artist’s new sculpture, say Sie hat eine Skulptur geschaffen. The meaning guides the past form, but some combinations allow variation: Platz schaffen and Ordnung schaffen do not always follow a simple two-box rule. Learn the clear task-versus-creation contrast first and check unfamiliar combinations in a dictionary.
