A useful resource must be trustworthy and match what you want to practise. Use the examples to build a short checklist.
The idea
Start with your goal: for N3 reading, try a passage with enough context and a way to check comprehension. Identify the author or organisation and look for a publication or update date. Compare a specific explanation and its examples with an independent reference, such as Japan Foundation materials. Try a sample, then keep the resource if its level and feedback help you learn.
Examples
- まず、教材を誰が書いたか確認します。First, I check who wrote the material.
- 情報がいつ更新されたか調べます。I check when the information was updated.
- その説明を別の資料と比べます。I compare the explanation with another source.
- 自分の目標に合う文章を選びます。I choose a text that fits my goal.
- 例文でその言葉がどう使われているか確かめます。I check how the word is used in the example sentence.
- 買う前に、サンプルを試します。Before buying, I try a sample.
Read-aloud uses a synthetic Japanese voice available on your device. Voice quality and availability vary; it does not assess your pronunciation.
No Japanese device voice is available. You can still read the text and use the linked listening resources.
Watch out
A polished design, a high price or an N3 label alone does not establish accuracy or suitability. An older resource can still be useful, but check time-sensitive claims and note when no date or author is given.
