The idea
Use … ile tanınır for “is known for …”: Gaziantep baklavasıyla tanınır. Use yaygındır for “is common”: olive-oil dishes are common in Aegean cuisine. Zeytinyağlılar names a category of dishes cooked with olive oil; mangalda means on a charcoal grill and fırında means in the oven. These describe ingredients or cooking methods, not ownership of a dish.

Watch out
Do not read tanınır as “is made only there”. Adana kebab is also served outside Adana. Nor does zeytinyağlı mean “contains whole olives”: the word points to olive oil. A regional association alone does not tell you every ingredient in a recipe.
