A lost key gives you a reason to distinguish the object you found from the person it belongs to. Use anahtar for a physical key and practise its case, plural and possessive forms.
The idea
The stem anahtar stays intact: anahtara, anahtarda, anahtarım, anahtarlarımız. Its final a gives back-vowel endings; the final r does not soften. In Anahtarı buldum, anahtarı is the definite object “the key”. In Onun anahtarı burada, the same spelling means “his/her key”. The surrounding words tell you which role it has.

Watch out
In ev anahtarı (house key), the final -ı belongs to the compound. To say you found that key, keep it and add -nı: Ev anahtarını buldum. Stopping at ev anahtarı loses the definite-object ending. Do not insert y: the connecting consonant here is n.

Fill the gap: I need a spare key.

anahtarlarımız
anahtarlarımız: there are several keys belonging to us, so -lar marks the keys as plural before -ımız marks their owners. The sentence states where they are, so no accusative is needed.
