Ask station staff where to find the platform for your train.

The idea

行き identifies the destination; 何番線 asks for the platform number. から marks the departure point, while で can mark where you board.

Examples

Excuse me, which platform does the train for Tokyo leave from?
It leaves from platform 3.
Where is platform 3?
Go down those stairs.
Is this train bound for Tokyo?
Yes, please board here.

Watch out

A platform number alone does not confirm the destination. Check the train’s destination and departure information too.
