Watch out

御 is often written お or ご in ordinary text; the reading depends on the word, so learn it with that word. 御家族 refers respectfully to someone else’s family. 御社（おんしゃ） is used in speech; 貴社 is the usual written counterpart. Compare 御 with 卸: 御 adds 彳 on the left.
