You will conjugate giymek in three tenses and the negative, and choose between giymek and takmak.
The idea
The stem giy- ends in a consonant, so it needs no buffer: giyiyorum, giydim, giyeceğim. The past starts with d because y is voiced, and the k of -ecek softens to ğ before a vowel. In the negative, -me- narrows to -mi- before -yor: giymiyorum. What you wear is the object: kazak giyiyorum (a sweater), kazağı giyiyorum (the sweater, with the accusative).
| Person | Present | Past | Future | Negative present |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ben | giyiyorum | giydim | giyeceğim | giymiyorum |
| sen | giyiyorsun | giydin | giyeceksin | giymiyorsun |
| o | giyiyor | giydi | giyecek | giymiyor |
| biz | giyiyoruz | giydik | giyeceğiz | giymiyoruz |
| siz | giyiyorsunuz | giydiniz | giyeceksiniz | giymiyorsunuz |
| onlar | giyiyorlar | giydiler | giyecekler | giymiyorlar |
Examples
